Piscataway NJ Bank Robbery

Middlesex County Pre Indictment Conference Lawyer

Threat to Use a Weapon in Robbery

Piscataway police are actively searching for a brazen bank robber who robbed a PNC Bank on Stelton Road on Friday and now they are asking for the public’s help in catching the man.

The description and pictures that authorities have released describes the man as a white male, about 5-feet-8-inches tall, who is bald and was wearing a dark jacket and sunglasses.

According to police, the suspect went into the bank around 12:20 p.m. and presented a note to the teller, claiming he had a weapon and asking for cash. The exact amount of money the man made off with is still under investigation. This has become a recurring theme that I have been seeing a lot lately – instead of brandishing a weapon and causing mass hysteria, the suspects calmly hand over the teller a threatening note claiming to have a weapon and demanding money. It is important to note, that although the man did not display a weapon, it is still armed robbery and the threat of using a weapon is the same as if he actually brandished it.

The Piscataway police are heading a joint task force with the FBI to track down the defendant. Anyone with information about the bank robbery is asked to contact Piscataway police detective Danny Mee at (732) 562-1100 or the FBI at (973)-792-3000.
