Edison Man Charged Under Suspicion of Criminal Mischief, Burglary

Middlesex County NJ Theft Fraud Lawyer

According to this recent 7online.com report, South Brunswick PD has issued a warrant in connection to a donation box theft at the Islamic Society of Central Jersey Tuesday evening. A 23-year-old Edison man whose name is mentioned in the linked article is under suspicion of the theft, having been charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

According to video surveillance, the young man allegedly entered the Islamic Center on Route 1 and broke through sheet rock to gain entry to the donation area. The man is described as a heavyset, bearded white mail. At the time of the theft he was wearing a black jacket, black hat and flip-flops.

South Brunswick Police have asked that anyone with information as to the suspect’s location contact them at (732) 329-4646. His bail has been set at $47,000.

The suspect faces significant charges as burglary, theft, and criminal mischief are indictable offenses that will be heard in Middlesex County Superior Court. The degree of the charge depends upon the amount taken and amount of damage done to the wall. Burglary occurs when an individual surreptitiously enters or remains in a facility with the intent to commit an indictable offense. It need not, but may, entail a theft. Here, the man obviously entered the facility with the intent to steal and also the intent to damage the wall- this is the basis of his criminal mischief charge.
